WhatIF Foods Brings Regenerative BAMnut-Based Noodles and BAMnut Milk to NYC

Operating in Singapore and the USA, WhatIF Foods, describing itself as a planet-positive and regenerative food brand, is to launch its portfolio of sustainable food and beverages in New York, following its appearance at Natural Products Expo West.

The brand, which says its use of regenerative crops is key to its message, has launched its products in over 130 retailers across the city, championing the use of the BAMnut, an “underused, yet nutritionally dense legume that has the ability to restore soil health, has been central to the success of their mission to improve the environment and combat climate change”, according to WhatIf Foods.

WhatIF’s noodles, containing 17g of protein and available in 4 flavors, are created with the regenerative Bambara groundnut, a legume that the founders say has the ability to naturally replenish our bodies and our planet. Meanwhile, the BAMnut Milk is made with three ingredients — Bambara groundnut, water and coconut oil — containing an average 5g of protein per serving.

WhatIf Foods products are available at the brand’s website as well as Amazon and select retailers in the New York area, including Citerellas; Giant Foods; Key Food; Brooklyn Harvest; Food Town; Super Fresh Market; Urban Market; Gourmet Fresh; and City Acres.

Co-founder and CEO, Christoph Langwallner, regularly advocates for business practices that restore and regenerates the earth, and recently spoke at the 2022 Planetier’s World Gathering held in Lisbon, Portugal

According to WhatIF Foods, a single cup of BAMnut milk a day for a year reduces carbon emissions equivalent to traveling 113 miles by car, over 14 New York studio apartments’ worth of agricultural land saved and 447 showers worth of water saved.
