Book Your Strategy Call: What Actually Happens When You're Ready to Take the Next Step
So you've been thinking about it. You've read enough to know PR matters, watched competitors get coverage you're not getting, and quietly wondered whether it's time to talk to someone who does this professionally. And then you got to the button that says "book a strategy call" and something stopped you.
I get it. Most founders freeze at that exact moment because they don't know what the call actually is. Is it a sales pitch? Do you need a plan first? Are you going to be pressured into something? So the button goes unclicked, another quarter goes by, and the brand stays exactly where it is.
Here's what I want you to know before you decide. The strategy call is nothing like what you're imagining. Once you understand what it actually is and what to bring to it, booking it stops feeling like a leap and starts feeling like the reasonable next step it is.
What the strategy call actually is

Let's start with what it isn't. It isn't a sales pitch. It isn't 30 minutes of us telling you why you need PR, or why you need us specifically. And it isn't an audition where you have to prove you're worthy of working with us before we'll give you the time of day.
Here's what it is. A real conversation, usually 30 to 45 minutes, where we listen to what you're building, understand where you're stuck, and give you our honest read on whether PR is the right lever for you right now. If it is, we'll walk you through how it would work for your specific brand. If it isn't yet, we'll tell you that too, and point you toward what would actually move the needle. Either way, you leave with something useful.
The questions we'll ask you
You don't need a business plan or a marketing deck. You just need to be able to talk about your brand honestly. Here's what we'll want to understand.
What are you building, and who's it for? Not the elevator pitch. The real version. Who are your actual customers, what do they care about, and why does what you do matter to them?
What have you already tried? Ads, agencies, content marketing, DIY press outreach, influencer campaigns, whatever the history is, we want to know. Not to judge it, but to understand what's worked and what hasn't.
What would success look like six months from now? Be specific. More press coverage isn't a goal. "I want customers to be able to find us when they search for X" is a goal. "I want investors to already know who we are before I raise" is a goal.
What's actually holding you back right now? Sometimes it's budget. Sometimes it's confidence. Sometimes it's not knowing what to say. Whatever it is, name it. We can't help you get past something we don't know about.
Take ten minutes of thinking about these before the call. It’ll be worth more than any deck you could put together for it.
The questions you should ask us
A good strategy call goes both ways. Here's what you should be asking us to figure out if we're the right partner.
How do you actually measure success? Any agency worth working with can answer in specifics. Not "brand awareness" or "impressions," but the real outcomes their work drives for clients. If the answer is vague, keep looking.
Who from your team would actually work with us? The person selling you the engagement often isn't the person delivering it. Ask who you'd be talking to weekly, and what they've done before.
What have you done for a brand like mine? Not identical, but similar in stage, industry, or challenge. Ask for real examples. Ask what worked and what didn't.
What happens if it doesn't work? This is the question most founders forget to ask, and it's the most important one. Every honest agency has stories of engagements that didn't produce what everyone hoped for. Ask what they learned, and how they'd handle it if it started happening with you.
How to know if you're ready
The honest signal that a strategy call is worth booking isn't that you have everything figured out. Most founders don't. It's that you know what you're building, you've reached the ceiling of what you can do alone, and you're open to a real conversation about what's next. You don't need a big budget in hand. You don't need a media list. You don't need to know what AEO stands for. You just need to be at the point where "what would move this brand forward from here" feels like a question you want to sit with someone and answer.
A small honest note: if the brand isn't clarified yet, if there's genuinely no budget for outside help in the next few quarters, or if the timing is off, we'll say so on the call. Nobody benefits from booking a partnership that isn't right yet. But if you're ready and most founders reading this are readier than they think. The call is where the next chapter starts.
The step past the button

Everything you've been reading about earned media, AI visibility, purpose-driven brand building, becoming the one AI recommends, all of it starts with a conversation. Not a plan. Not a proposal. A conversation, with someone who's built this work into 500+ brands, and who's genuinely curious about yours.
You've done the hard part already. You've read enough to know PR matters. You've watched the visibility gap widen. You've quietly decided that it's time. All that's left is the click.
I'll see you on the call.
