Bug Soother is a premium, naturally made, and potent insect repellant very popular with both adults and children for its potency and gentleness. In 2021, Bug Soother was acquired by Eco Lips and is now available in over 10,000 retail locations nationwide. Eco Lips tasked Publicity For Good to manage its PR efforts to secure features in top publications to increase the visibility of Bug Soother in time for various outdoor awareness days, all while securing a variety of media opportunities for Steve Shriver to establish thought leadership in his industry by securing features in a variety of publications relevant to their brand including hiking/sports, outdoor, wellness, lifestyle and regional publications.

To increase Bug Soother’s visibility, Publicity For Good’s primary focus was to seek out opportunities in digital and print media for product samplings, roundups, and reviews, particularly in top sustainability, cosmetics, beauty, wellness, and lifestyle publications. In order to establish Steve Shriver as an industry and thought leader, Publicity For Good sought out interviews and media opportunities where he can showcase his knowledge and the story behind his enterprise. Moreover, we also sought opportunities that can elevate their status as thought leaders by pitching for expert interviews and participating in product and brand submissions for media awards.

Publicity For Good and its campaign for Bug Soother for the span of a year gave Bug Soother a total of 37 live media opportunities across a variety of digital media platforms. Among these opportunities included product roundups, reviews, and features with top-tier publication firms such as People, E! Online, Yahoo! Life, Heavy and Before It’s News. Publicity For Good was also able to secure opportunities with niche digital publications and blogs such as Eco Watch, the Dodo, Little Village, the Elephant Journal, and Katie Couric. Bug Soother’s campaign was able to generate a reach of over 9.17 billion, effectively penetrating its target audience. We were also able to send out a total of 89 product samples to a variety of media members spanning from digital, print, radio and television outlets to blogs and influencers.

Publicity For Good’s efforts for Bug Soother and Eco Lips effectively raised awareness in time for relevant awareness campaigns for outdoor activities and summer celebrations. The product roundups and features undoubtedly elevated Bug Soother’s status as a leading insect repellant in its industry. Furthermore, our features in blogs and podcasts also aided in our campaign to establish Steve Shriver as an industry thought leader.
